MY OTHER HALF IS GONE

My Other Half AfterTalk Grief Support This was shared with me by a friend who recently lost his wife. LL
I lost my other half the other night to cancer. With sadness and a broken heart I share with all of you that she is no longer here with us. She is not physically here but spiritually she will always be with us.
My wife, my beautiful bride, mi hermosa mujer, mamá chingona. Como te amo y te extraño. [I love you and miss you]
As I try to write I am filled with emotions that no words can explain or express. I struggle to find the right words. To find an order to what I am writing.
I received a message a few days ago from a good friend who lost her husband to cancer wrote me. In the message she sent me she used these letters. IYKYK.[“if you know, you know] I had to look up what that meant. And it can’t be said any better. IYKYK
Cancer stole my other half. Together we were whole. Now I am like Humpty Dumpty sitting on a wall.
I am destroyed, heartbroken, and afraid. Afraid of being alone, afraid of not knowing what life is like without having her in my life.
Oh how I will miss everything with her. To feel her scratch my head or rub my back. To yell at me and to kiss me. If only we could turn back the hands of time to catch this Cancer before it had gotten this bad.
My love oh how I miss you. Mi amor mi vida como te extraño. [Oh how I miss you]
For 25 years we shared our life with one another. 25 years of happy and sad for better and worse together till the end. We had plans to grow old together and now I will grow old without her.
Life will go on but everything will be different.
I am so thankful and want to thank each and every person who has wanted to help us thru this battle of Cancer. It allowed us to give it a good fight and possibilities that other wise would not have been possible. I know that PA would want everyone to know how thankful she was for all of the support.
PA passed peacefully on her own terms on September 1. A day that before did not have much of a meaning more than a number or another day of the week. September 1 is now a date I can never ever forget.
